Here we will learn the depths of Torah wisdom. Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi in today's section of Tanya highlights just how special this learning is:

'The knowledge of the existence of the Divine reality is also a lofty and exalted mitzvah. [In a sense] it outweighs them all.

אֶלָּא שֶׁיְּדִיעַת הַמְּצִיאוּת מֵהַהִשְׁתַּלְשְׁלוּת, הִיא גַּם כֵּן מִצְוָה רָמָה וְנִשָּׂאָה, וְאַדְּרַבָּה – עוֹלָה עַל כּוּלָּנָה,

Thus, it is written, “Know this day […that the Lord is God]," and “Know the God of your father…"; i.e., there is an obligation to attain a knowledge or apprehension of Divinity. Moreover, this leads to a “whole heart,” for the latter verse concludes, “and serve Him with a whole heart”; i.e., a knowledge of God leads one to serve Him with one’s entire being.

And this is the essential thing: the wholehearted awe of God is the ultimate purpose of all the commandments...'
