Today is known as the "Birthday of Chasidut."
But what did these teachings innovate? What's the difference between Kabbalah & Chasidut?
Imagine a cup with water inside. Would you say the cup is filled with water? That would technically be incorrect - it's the hollow space the cup makes that is filled with water. The cup remains separate.
Kabbalah teaches us about the upper, transcendent levels of Divine light and reality. Chasidut came to show us how every detail of this material world is also the light of Hashem, that "the cup" isn't separate.
What's the deeper paradigm represented by the Biblical siblings Jacob & Esau, and Rachel & Leah?
