Today is Rosh Chodesh - The new Hebrew month of Adar. The Talmud in Taanit 29a teaches: "When the month of Adar enters, one must increase in joy."
Why not just say: "One must be joyful"? To "increase" our joy implies that the Torah expects us to be joyful already at all times! Seems a tall task.
But perhaps the happiness they're referring to here isn't good times always. Life is challenging. Happiness can be quiet, an inner contentment, knowing we're on the right path. A clarity of purpose, a life lived with spiritual awareness & Divine connection.
I don't lack, because everything I have is a gift. I don't worry, because everything happens for a reason. All I can control is how I treat others, how I grow every day, and how I try my best to make my soul proud. I'm happy & grateful just to live. I can grow, make a positive difference. I can connect to my Infinite partner who wants what's best for me.
Wishing you and yours a month and life ahead of true inner joy
