Athletes and fitness specialists will tell you that fitness success like muscle gain only happens when you push past the painful resistance. Growth happens most when you're pushed to your limits, you somehow conjure the willpower to go just past what you think you can handle, and then you relax.
Life is the same way. We’re pushed by challenges into discomfort, until we feel we can't take it anymore. And then we make it to the other side, having noticeably grown through the painful process. “The stronger your evil inclination, the stronger your good inclination.” The most special ones endure the most challenge. But when you feel like it’s enough, turn heavenward and ask for relief & the requisite strength to conquer it all.
The next time something painful happens, notice the same inner satisfaction you have when your muscles burn in exercise, knowledge that every descent leads to a greater ascent after.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE: Thank God for your challenges and pain. Ask that the wisdom and growth you’re meant to gain from them should from now on be in a revealed good manner, not hidden through tests. And ask that you be granted clarity in the meantime to understand they are happening for a reason.
COMMENT: Is there a time when you experienced a challenge that you recognized there might be a reason behind it, an opportunity to learn from it & grow?
